My Metallic Reef
My submission for the D&AD New Blood Awards 2024, as part of the Google Fonts & The Typographic Circle brief. This campaign is intended to raise awareness of metal pollution in the Great Barrier Reef, targeting Australians across the country. Abri posters are used to portray the luscious green plant life purple, as if they were the affected coral beneath the sea, surrounded by its monochromatic, bleached environment. Pexiglass walkways use the sun to shine purple light onto pedestrians below, reminding them of the diseases coral experiences due to global warming and pollution. The campaign utilises Sam Illingworth's poem, Metallic Reefs, to communicate its harrowing message, and address its audience in hopes of reducing our own personal waste, whilst holding larger shipping and agricultural corporations accountable for theirs. Created using Google's Museo Modern font, the Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate, and Blender.
